Identity systems, editorial design, type design, and brand strategy for cultural institutions, fashion houses, and independent publishers. We rarely work on short deadlines.
How long is a typical engagement?
Most projects run between eight and twenty weeks, depending on scope. Retainer arrangements begin at six months and evolve with the client's needs and internal capacity.
Do you collaborate with other studios?
Yes, frequently. We partner with photographers, art directors, writers, and developers when a project benefits from expanded perspective or specialized expertise.
Where is the studio located?
Our atelier sits in a converted print shop in the east end. Visits are by appointment, though we are happy to schedule calls for those traveling from elsewhere.
Studio details
Attackinblack is an independent design practice founded on the belief that restraint and rigor produce work that endures. We maintain a deliberately small team, take on a limited roster, and treat every brief as a long-term relationship rather than a transaction.
Office hours run Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 to 18:00. Outside those windows, write whenever suits you; we will reply when we return to the studio.
